Three Georgia Teens Killed in Fiery Highway 65 Crash

Three Georgia teenagers lost their lives and a fourth was critically injured when their vehicle veered off Highway 65 in Florida and caught fire during a spring break trip, authorities reported.

The crash occurred late Monday morning near Bloody Bluff Road as the group traveled to St. George Island to visit family and friends. Troopers said the Jeep left the roadway for unknown reasons, struck a tree, and ignited.

Authorities have identified the victims as:

  • Jackson Mobley, 18, of Cumming, driver
  • Jaylyn Fehr, 17, of Cumming, passenger
  • Charlotte Martin, 16, of Cumming, passenger

All three died at the scene. A fourth teen, Jamison Mobley, 17, of Alpharetta, was rescued by bystanders before the vehicle was fully engulfed and airlifted to a Tallahassee hospital in critical condition.

The teens attended Horizon Christian Academy, which described them as “amazing, kind, smart, and loved students” and asked for prayers for the surviving teen and the families affected.

Fehr and Martin also played volleyball for A5 Gwinnett Volleyball Club. Their coach remembered them as “bright lights within our community.”

Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith called it a “really terrible traffic crash.” Highway 65 was closed for several hours, and deputies plan to place crosses at the crash site to honor the victims.

The Florida Highway Patrol traffic homicide unit is investigating, though no other vehicles were involved and the cause of the Jeep leaving the roadway has not yet been released.
